Dorothy and the Shaggy Man continue along a winding road and encounter a lost little boy dressed in sailor clothes who calls himself Button-Bright. Despite Dorothy's persistent questions, Button-Bright can only answer 'don't know' to everything. The Shaggy Man suggests he join them, and Toto investigates the hole Button-Bright is digging. They decide to continue on their journey together, uncertain of their destination.
