These terms apply to your use of the Betterreads app and the website betterreads.online (“the service”). By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Use of the service

You may use the service for personal, non-commercial reading and to track your reading progress. You may not use the service to violate any law, infringe others’ rights, or distribute content you do not have the right to use. We may suspend or end your access if we believe you have breached these terms.

Accounts and subscriptions

Some features may require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Paid features, if any, are governed by the subscription or purchase terms shown in the app or on the App Store. Refunds are handled according to Apple’s policies where the app is purchased.

Content and intellectual property

The service, including its design, text, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors. The books and other content you read may be subject to their own copyrights and licenses. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the service or our content except as permitted by the service itself (for example, for personal reading).

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of third-party content (including book text or companion materials) that may be available through the service.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claims related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or, if nothing was paid, to zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are significant, we may notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the new terms.
