Billy Byrne professes his love for Barbara Harding and is pardoned for a crime he did not commit, thanks to a confession by Coke Sheehan. Meanwhile, at El Orobo ranch, Anthony Harding and Bridge prepare to defend against an attack by Pesita's forces. Billy Byrne arrives to help, kills Captain Rozales, and later rides north to seek aid from U.S. cavalry. The chapter ends with the cavalry arriving to relieve the besieged ranch.
