What happens
A naive cattleman from Encinal County, Mr. Simmons, arrives in Houston on his first trip out of Texas. He is quickly befriended by a well-dressed stranger, Captain Clancy, who claims to be a railway paymaster. After sharing a meal, they visit a saloon and then a theater, where Clancy attempts to drug Simmons's beer. The plan fails when Simmons accidentally spills the beer, but a woman named Violet drinks it and faints.
