What happens
Carson Napier faces a series of crises aboard the Sofal. He discovers that Duare is missing, along with Moosko and Vilor, and learns that Vilor is a Thoran spy. A lookout is found murdered. The Sofal engages in a chase and battle with the Yan, during which Carson is distracted by thoughts of Duare and the mysterious land of Noobol. The chapter ends with Carson going to check on his prisoner, only to find an angan with Moosko and Vilor, raising suspicions.
