What happens
The Galactic Patrol detects the Black Fleet approaching Sol. Port Admiral Kinnison chooses Operation Affick, a close-range defense, over other strategies. The Cone of Battle is formed and unleashed, but the Black Fleet deploys swarms of small craft and hidden attackers. Kinnison is formally appointed Port Admiral by the Galactic Council, issues promotions, and mobilizes the Galactic Patrol.
