Chapter 1
To Her

Chapter 2
Winnie-the-Pooh
The chapter introduces Winnie-the-Pooh, a bear of very little brain, who lives in the Hundred Acre Wood. He is fond of honey and often gets into trouble while trying to satisfy his cravings. The story begins with Pooh's attempts to get honey from a bee hive, leading to a series of humorous mishaps involving Christopher Robin and a balloon.
Chapter 3
In Which We Are Introduced to Winnie-the-Pooh and Some Bees, and the Stories Begin
The narrator introduces Edward Bear, better known as Winnie-the-Pooh, and begins telling a story about Pooh's attempt to get honey from a bee hive. Pooh climbs a tree, falls, then enlists Christopher Robin's help with a blue balloon to float up to the hive disguised as a small black cloud. Despite their efforts, the bees remain suspicious, and Pooh decides to come down. Christopher Robin shoots the balloon, and Pooh floats safely to the ground, though his arms stay stiff for a week.
Chapter 4
In Which Pooh Goes Visiting and Gets Into a Tight Place
Pooh visits Rabbit's house, eats too much, and gets stuck in the doorway while trying to leave. Rabbit fetches Christopher Robin, who decides Pooh must stay for a week to grow thin. During that time, Rabbit uses Pooh's back legs as a towel-horse and Christopher Robin reads to him. After a week, they pull Pooh free, and he continues his walk, humming proudly.
Chapter 5
In Which Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting and Nearly Catch a Woozle
On a winter's day, Pooh is tracking paw-marks in the snow, and Piglet joins him, excited at the possibility of hunting a Woozle. As they follow the tracks around a spinney, they imagine the number of animals increasing, which makes them anxious. Piglet tries to excuse himself, but Christopher Robin reveals that the tracks were made by Pooh himself walking in circles. Pooh admits his foolishness, and Christopher Robin reassures him that he is the best bear in the world.
Chapter 6
In Which Eeyore Loses a Tail and Pooh Finds One
Eeyore is discovered standing sadly in a thistly corner of the forest, having lost his tail. Pooh promises to find it for him and visits Owl, who lives in the Hundred Acre Wood. After a confusing conversation about issuing a reward, Pooh notices that the bell-rope on Owl's door looks familiar. He realizes it is actually Eeyore's tail, which Owl had taken home after finding it in the forest. Pooh returns the tail to Eeyore, and Christopher Robin nails it back on, making Eeyore happy again.
Chapter 7
In Which Piglet Meets a Heffalump
Piglet and Pooh discuss Heffalumps with Christopher Robin, then decide to catch one using a cunning trap. They dig a pit and place a honey jar inside as bait. During the night, Pooh, unable to resist the honey, gets his head stuck in the jar and falls into the pit. Piglet, investigating the trap at dawn, mistakes the jar-headed Pooh for a terrifying Heffalump and flees to Christopher Robin. Christopher Robin returns with Piglet, discovers the truth, and laughs, while Pooh emerges unharmed after breaking the jar.
Chapter 8
In Which Eeyore Has a Birthday and Gets Two Presents
Eeyore is feeling sorry for himself on his birthday, believing no one has remembered. Pooh and Piglet each decide to give him a present: Pooh brings a honey pot (after accidentally eating the honey) and gets Owl to inscribe it, while Piglet brings a balloon that bursts when he falls. Despite the mishaps, Eeyore receives both gifts with gratitude, finding value in the pot and the memory of the red balloon.
Chapter 9
In Which Kanga and Baby Roo Come to the Forest, and Piglet Has a Bath
Kanga and Baby Roo arrive in the Forest, causing concern among the residents. Rabbit devises a plan to capture Baby Roo to force Kanga to leave, involving Pooh distracting Kanga with poetry while Piglet jumps into her pocket. The plan succeeds, but Kanga discovers the trick and gives Piglet a bath as a joke.
Chapter 10
In Which Christopher Robin Leads an Expotition to the North Pole
Christopher Robin organizes an expedition to discover the North Pole, gathering Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo, Owl, Eeyore, and Rabbit's friends-and-relations. After a long march, Pooh accidentally finds the pole, which is planted and marked. The group returns home, with Pooh feeling proud.
Chapter 11
In Which Piglet Is Entirely Surrounded by Water
During a relentless flood, Piglet finds himself trapped in his home as water rises, feeling lonely and anxious. He sends a message in a bottle asking for help. Meanwhile, Pooh, after a long sleep, discovers the flood and uses a honey jar as a boat, which he names The Floating Bear. Christopher Robin joins him with an umbrella boat, and together they rescue Piglet just in time.
Chapter 12
In Which Christopher Robin Gives Pooh a Party, and We Say Goodbye
Christopher Robin announces a special party to honor Pooh for rescuing Piglet from the flood. Owl spreads the news, and all the animals gather for the celebration. Christopher Robin presents Pooh with a special pencil case, and the chapter ends with a quiet walk home and a poignant farewell.
