After Trilby and Little Billee leave Paris, Taffy and the Laird struggle with loneliness and demoralization. They drift away from their studio life, send the piano back to London, and eventually leave Paris themselves. Meanwhile, Little Billee achieves success in London, begins his Moon-Dial painting, and develops platonic relationships with society ladies.
