What happens
Superintendent Battle questions Virginia about Anthony Cade's past, revealing his lack of knowledge about Anthony's history before South Africa. Later, Virginia and Bill Eversleigh walk with M. Lemoine, who deliberately guides them to intercept Isaacstein's luggage cart. Lemoine retrieves a fallen suitcase, opens it, and discovers a revolver hidden inside, which he takes before having Bill return the suitcase to Isaacstein's car.
