The Akka set up ambushes and barricades, but Marakinoff's anti-gravity weapon devastates their defenses. The Silent Ones intervene by pouring opalescent light from their dome, which neutralizes the green ray and protects the Akka. A surprise attack by Lugur's men nearly captures Lakla, but Olaf engages Lugur in single combat, declaring him his own kill.
