Larry O'Keefe intervenes, shooting the Shining One and threatening Lugur with his pistol. Yolara protects Larry and Olaf, asserting her authority over Lugur. Rador swears loyalty to the two men, and Larry is given silver garments for a feast, while Marakinoff appears with sinister intent.
