What happens

Julian 20th, having learned that Bethelda is imprisoned in a westerly ruin, waits for nightfall to attempt her rescue. He hears Red Lightning's nicker and retrieves his horse, then reconnoiters the ruin. After killing a Kalkar for his sword, he finds Bethelda and fights Raban in a desperate duel. As Raban's men arrive, Bethelda extinguishes the light and they attempt to escape through the crowded doorway.
