What happens
Gerald uses the magic ring to escape a restaurant with Jimmy, who had been transformed into an old City man by a wish. They reappear inside a secret passage behind the statue of Flora at Yalding Towers. Later, the children find the bailiff unconscious outside the temple, attacked by the Ugly-Wuglies. The eldest Ugly-Wugly appears, now fully alive, and explains the attack. Gerald, wearing the ring, confronts him. Meanwhile, Gerald struggles with the impossibility of reversing the transformations, and enlists a street boy's help to retrieve the transformed Jimmy and the Ugly-Wugly from their offices.
