What happens
Ribnikov awakens abruptly and senses danger. A woman watches him silently. He hears approaching footsteps, locks the door, and dresses quickly. When the police knock, he attempts to escape through the window, but the woman grabs him, causing him to fall awkwardly. Leonka and policemen burst in, and Leonka subdues the injured Ribnikov, who reveals his leg is broken.
