What happens
Jemima Puddle-Duck, frustrated that the farmer's wife won't let her hatch her own eggs, leaves the farm to find a nesting place. She meets a seemingly polite gentleman with sandy whiskers (a fox) who offers her a shed full of feathers. She lays nine eggs there, but the fox plans to eat her. The collie dog Kep discovers the plot, brings foxhound puppies, and rescues Jemima, though the puppies eat all her eggs. Jemima later hatches four ducklings of her own.
