What happens
Master Nathaniel learns from the widow Gibberty that his son Ranulph has followed Duke Aubrey's summons across the hills to Fairyland. Despite her taunts, he resolves to go after him. He then orchestrates the arrest of Clementina Gibberty for the murder of her husband, using evidence from a letter given by old Portunus. The widow implicates a greater power behind the murder and reveals her failed attempt to poison Nathaniel. Hazel and Peter Pease assist in the proceedings.
