A Dog and a Cock travel together as friends.
What happens
A Dog and a Cock travel together as friends. At night, the Cock roosts in a tree while the Dog sleeps in the hollow trunk. In the morning, the Cock's crowing attracts a Fox, who flatters the Cock to lure him down. The Cock cleverly asks the Fox to wake his 'porter' (the Dog), and when the Fox raps on the trunk, the Dog springs out and kills him.
