What happens
The Continental Op visits a dive in San Francisco, encountering a host of criminals including Paddy the Mex, Angel Grace Cardigan, Bluepoint Vance, Red O'Leary, and others. After leaving, he is tipped off by a newsie named Beno about a planned heist on the Seaman's National Bank. Moments later, Beno is shot dead. The Op returns to the dive to find the criminals gone, and the police investigation yields nothing.
