Sun Tzu

Sun Tzu (also known as Sunzi) is a legendary figure in Chinese history, traditionally believed to have lived during the late Spring and Autumn period (c. 6th–5th century BCE). He is best known as the author of The Art of War, a concise but profound treatise on military strategy and tactics. The text, composed of thirteen chapters, emphasizes the importance of intelligence, deception, and adaptability in achieving victory with minimal conflict. While historical records, such as Sima Qian's Records of the Grand Historian, suggest Sun Tzu served as a general for King Helü of Wu, many scholars debate his exact historicity and the text's dating. Regardless, The Art of War has exerted immense influence on Eastern and Western military thought, and its principles have been applied to business, sports, and leadership.
