Mack Reynolds (1917–1983) was an American author best known for his science fiction stories that blended adventure with sharp social and political commentary. Born in Corcoran, California, he began writing in the 1950s and became a regular contributor to magazines like Analog and The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction. Reynolds often focused on utopian and dystopian futures, examining economic systems, class struggle, and the role of technology in shaping society. His notable works include the Joe Mauser series and the United Planets series, as well as standalone novels like The Cosmic Eye and Looking Backward from the Year 2000.
