G. A. Henty

George Alfred Henty (1832–1902) was an English novelist and war correspondent who wrote over 120 books, primarily historical adventure stories for boys. After serving in the Crimean War and as a correspondent for the London Standard during conflicts like the Austro-Prussian War and the Ashanti War, he turned to fiction. His works, such as "Beric the Briton" and "With Clive in India," combine meticulous historical research with thrilling narratives, often featuring young protagonists who witness or participate in pivotal events. Henty's stories reflect Victorian imperial values, emphasizing duty, bravery, and resourcefulness.
