Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter was born on July 28, 1866, in London, England. She developed a love for nature and drawing from an early age, often sketching animals and plants. Her most famous work, "The Tale of Peter Rabbit," was initially self-published in 1901 before being picked up by Frederick Warne & Co. in 1902. Potter went on to write and illustrate over 20 books, including "The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin" and "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck." Her stories are noted for their detailed watercolor illustrations and gentle moral lessons. Later in life, she became a successful farmer and conservationist in the Lake District, preserving large areas of land that are now part of the Lake District National Park. Potter's literary legacy endures through her timeless tales, which have been translated into numerous languages and adapted into various media.
