## What happens

D-503, now recovered from his 'illness' and having undergone the operation, reports the facts: he and others were taken to Auditorium 112 for the operation, after which he confessed everything to the Well-Doer. He witnesses the torture of a woman (I-330) under the Bell in the Gas Chamber, who remains silent despite repeated attempts. D-503 expresses certainty that Reason will win, noting the establishment of a temporary Wall of high voltage waves and the impending executions.
