## What happens

Glenarvan and his party, having failed to find Captain Grant, depart from Fort Independence and travel across the Argentine plains. As they journey, they encounter treacherous swamps and a vast field of horns marking a cattle disaster. A massive flood suddenly overtakes them, forcing a desperate flight. The horses are lost except for Thaouka, but the group finds refuge in a tree. Thalcave bravely dives back to save his horse, and both disappear into the mist.
