## What happens

Huck wakes to find Pap has returned. After a tense morning, Huck hides a canoe he finds drifting in the river and begins planning his escape. He stages his own murder by killing a wild pig, scattering rocks and meal to create false trails, and then sets off down the river in the canoe, heading for Jackson's Island. He falls asleep and wakes to see Pap rowing past, then continues downstream.
